Appointments

If you require an interpreter for your appointment please inform the reception staff, who will make arrangements for an interpreter to be present at your appointment.

The Practice continues to offer face to face and telephone appointments giving patients choice. We ask that patients can give as much information as possible to the receptionist for them to Care Navigate and direct you to the correct service.

Online Requests

Alternatively you can book online via the link at the top of this page. Should you wish to sign up for this online service please attend the surgery with your ID and you will be given your username and password for the online services.

We now operate a book on the day system on a Monday and Friday. Please feel free to check with the surgery at any time to see if we have any appointment cancellations. If you wish to see a particular doctor it is always helpful to book in advance.

If a doctor or nurse asks you to make an appointment for a set period of time i.e. in one month please do so before you leave. The doctor will give you a slip for the reception team enabling you to book your appointment outside of the three week period.

Urgent Appointments

Urgent appointments are available on a daily basis for acute conditions only. Please inform the receptionist of the problem so they are able to care navigate and signpost you to the relevant health care professional.

If you are not able to accept the urgent appointment offered you will be offered the next available appointment. Please feel free to check with the surgery at any time to see if we have any appointment cancellations.

If you wish to see a particular doctor it is always helpful to book in advance.

PATCHS Online

The practice offers a new online service called PATCHS. By clicking on the link on the homepage you can complete the form for several requests including ongoing sicknotes, appointments and general advice. Once the form is received this will be directed to the appropriate person to deal with. If it’s a medical problem the practice will get back to you within 48 hours and if it’s an administration request this can take up to 72 hours.

  • Dressings / Wound care
  • Travel advice and injections
  • NHS Health Check (40 years and over)
  • Blood tests – please note all blood tests have to be taken before 3.30pm.

Please tell the receptionist the reason for your appointment request so they are able to book your appointment with the appropriate clinician.

Self-arrival screen

Patients can self-arrive themselves therefore cutting down on queues at the front desk.

Late arrivals

If a patient is more than ten minutes late for an appointment, they may not be seen. The Reception Team will check with a Clinician if they will still be able to see a patient if they arrive between 5-10 minutes late. This is due to the reason that if a patient arrives late for their appointment, it pushes the Clinician behind their working schedule. This makes it unfair on patients who have arrived on time and for those requiring visits on that day. Any patient arriving over ten minutes late will not be seen and will have to re-arrange their appointment.

Clinicians do their best to meet the individual needs of patients within the time allocated. Unfortunately, this is not always possible depending on the complexity of the issue and may cause the Clinician to fall behind. Staff endeavour to inform waiting patients if this event occurs.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to allocate the slot to someone else. The practice asks that the patient gives 24 hours notice for a cancellation. Failure to cancel or not attend an appointment on three occasions will result in removal from the practice list.
