Appointments

If you require an interpreter for your appointment please inform the reception staff, who will make arrangements for an interpreter to be present at your appointment.

The practice operates a pre-book system only. We do not operate a sit and wait system; you can book appointments up to four weeks in advance with the Doctors and up to one month in advance with the nursing team.

The doctors and nurses have clinics Monday to Friday, mornings and afternoons. You have the right to book an appointment with the doctor of your choice but please note that this may mean you have to wait a little longer.

Appointments can be made by telephone between the hours of 08:00 – 18:00 Monday to Friday or in person at the reception desk. Please try to call after 11:00 for routine appointments when the lines are less busy.

Online Requests

Alternatively you can book online via the link at the top of this page. Should you wish to sign up for this online service please contact reception on 01274 662441 between 10:00 – 14:00 when we will be happy to help you with this. You will then be asked to collect your username and password details in person.

You will need to bring in photographic evidence before we can release this document to you (e.g. passport, driving licence).

We now operate a book on the day system on a Monday and Friday. You can still book up to three weeks ahead. Please feel free to check with the surgery at any time to see if we have any appointment cancellations. If you wish to see a particular doctor it is always helpful to book well in advance.

If a doctor or nurse asks you to make an appointment for a set period of time i.e. in one month please do so before you leave. The doctor will give you a slip for the reception team enabling you to book your appointment outside of the three week period.

Urgent Appointments

Urgent appointments are available on a daily basis for acute conditions only. Please inform the receptionist of the problem so that appropriate use is made of the limited number of appointment slots.

If you are not able to accept the urgent appointment offered you will be offered the next routine available appointment. Please feel free to check with the surgery at any time to see if we have any appointment cancellations.

If you wish to see a particular doctor it is always helpful to book well in advance.

Practice Nurses

Practice nurses are available by appointment for:

  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • Dressings
  • Travel advice and injections
  • MOT – this is a general health check
  • Ear syringing
  • Cryotherapy for warts and verrucas (Thursday afternoon only)
  • Blood tests – please note all blood tests have to be taken in the morning

Please tell the receptionist the reason for your appointment request so that the correct amount of time and the appropriate clinic may be allocated.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
